Anna Claire is the kind of person who listens before she speaks and means every word when she does. She’s thoughtful. She’s quiet. And she wants to be a federal attorney. There’s a fierceness in her that doesn’t ask for attention but earns it anyway.
We photographed her autumn senior session in the Tetons, and something happened when she put on that flowy yellow dress. She came alive in a way the camera could feel. Running through the sagebrush with the dress catching the wind behind her. Walking along the river with the fall colors going gold around her. There’s a version of Anna Claire that’s careful and measured, and there’s a version of her that is free and full of motion, and we got both that evening.
Her mother told me this session felt like a long last goodbye as a core family. Not because anything is ending, but because this is the edge of it. The last autumn before graduation. The last season where everyone is still under the same roof and the family looks the way it’s looked for eighteen years. She wanted to remember this moment in time, exactly as it is, before her daughter steps into whoever she’s about to become.
