The Grand Teton National Park has dense forests, lush grasses, and striking mountain ranges, all of which provide the perfect background to an intimate and deeply romantic engagement portrait session. It’s in this idyllic setting that Kelsey and Will, a freshly engaged couple (they just got engaged the morning we had the session!) chose to capture their commitment to each other.
I love working with newly engaged couples, and witnessing Kelsey and Will’s love was as inspiring as the majestic mountains that surrounded us in the valley where we worked. They are a fun, easygoing couple who love to make each other laugh, and the candids in which they’re sharing laughs over inside jokes with each other are some of my favorites. That kind of delight in each other’s company is a privilege to capture in an engagement portrait session. The misty blue shade of the mountains was perfectly offset by the golden light that seemed to hang in the air around them – they were literally glowing at times!
There’s an especially beautiful moment when Will is tucking Kelsey’s hair behind her ear while she gazes up at him. The happiness of her adoration and her confidence in his love for her was so apparent I couldn’t help but be inspired. It’s a quiet moment in contrast with the cheer of the rest of the engagement portrait session, but one of the most special. They were so comfortable with each other in front of the camera, I barely had to direct them and instead snapped away while they talked and laughed with each other, reveling in each other’s presence.
