I love meeting families that do things out of the ordinary and forge their own paths. Luckily, my work puts me in contact with a lot of families who do things their own way and getting to know the McTigue family in the Grand Teton National Park left me in awe at their bravado!
You see, the McTigues have been on the road since last November, just taking a trip across America and getting to know the lay of the land. Their adventures eventually brought them to the Tetons and, as the beautiful family explored the land, I snapped away. Their son, Silas, was a fun and smart little guy who didn’t shy away from the camera and stood up tall when I took his photos! I truly admired his confidence, and it was a pleasure to take pictures of all three of them together in their varying shades of blue clothing.
I think my favorite picture from this shoot was, by far, the shot of the three of them holding hands and walking along the path while in conversation. It really symbolizes how close they are to one another, as well as the unique path they chose to take by dropping everything and going on a months-long road trip. Best of all, it shows that even if their road is one less traversed, it is still beautiful and, well, perfect for them.
