The Heinles are farmers from North Dakota, where the land stretches out in every direction and the sky is the tallest thing around. So when they pulled into Jackson Hole with their three daughters and saw the Tetons for the first time, it hit different.
With three girls in three different schools, three different seasons of growing up, all at once. They came here to see the mountains, but what they really came for was each other. Time together in a place that felt nothing like home, and everything like an adventure.
Their mom Amy wanted to capture the silliness and the sweetness in equal measure, the way her daughters love each other right now, in this exact moment where one is starting high school and the youngest still has years of being little. Amy said it best: “This was so enchanting. The epic scenery, the Tetons, the water. I’ll forever treasure these pictures.”

The Heinles chose a piece of art for above their piano and a handmade album. Back home in North Dakota, in the house where these girls are growing up, there will be a portrait of the four of them in the mountains. And an album they can open on any given evening and remember the summer they saw something bigger than the sky they already knew.
